| When
it comes to shooting sport having high quality equipment can often
mean the difference between getting the killer photograph and not
getting the photograph. More often than not the window of photographic
opportunity is only a small one and that is why it is most important
that the photographer be up to speed with equipment. |
Mark
uses a range of Canon 35mm gear with pro series lenses that range
from 15mm to 600mm, to capture his photographs from land and water.
These are combined with the latest 35mm camera bodies that run on
nickel-hydride batteries, which make the cameras capable of auto focusing
on a moving target at nine frames per second (this is the worlds fastest
35mm system).
This equipment is used with two or three Aquatech
water housings that are the most advanced housings on the market,
with bayonet fit-ports and clip-backs that allow film and lenses to
be changed in less than a minute. This provides Mark with a great
advantage over photographers who use the old bolt-down type of housing. |

The
reality of most surf trips is that the waves will probably only be
good for one or two days. This means the photographer must take maximum
advantage of the short time available to him to shoot in. Having a
number of these Aquatech
housings creates a great advantage for Mark, when the action is moving
quickly and time is limited. The end result means a higher hit ratio
from a single day of waves which flows on to the client as more usable
photographs and a more successful trip. |
